Abstract :
We present a new approach for achieving spatial frequency filtering in the analog domain. Our device, the thin film spatial filter, is a hybrid structure which combines the strengths of analog VLSI technology with the simplicity of a continuous sheet resistance. The result is a structure that achieves significant savings in “real estate”, which enables the fabrication of high format arrays for compact, real-time image processing applications
