Abstract
In recent years, the promotion of energy saving is important from the viewpoint of preventing greenhouse effect and improvement of air pollution problems. In addition to the research and development of vehicles themselves, smoothing of traffic flow and efficiency of traffic are important subjects to promote energy saving. In particular, reduction of fuel consumption by traffic control is thought as one of the practical plans that can utilize existing traffic management systems. In this paper, we analyze the signal control system not from the standpoint of user optimal but from the standpoint of energy saving, that is to minimize fuel consumption
