Abstract :
The basic operating principles of thyristors and silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCRs) are reviewed, and basic troubleshooting techniques for these devices used in solid-state motor controllers are outlined. The information covered is basic enough to also be applicable to SCRs in variable-frequency drives as well as solid-state reduced voltage starters
