Abstract :
A general modelling framework for steady state performance analysis of Universal Personal Telecommunications (UPT) services in a multinetwork environment is presented in this paper. The investigated performance measures are related to service control points (SCPs) and databases. The proposed framework enables the modelling of UPT services described in the ITU Draft Rec. Q.76. This framework considers the presence of UPT and non-UPT users in a network, as well as the impact of users´ reattempts to invoke UPT services. A UPT network is modelled as a set of clusters of one or more exchanges. The calculation of the SCP utilisation in a simple multinetwork UPT environment is performed using this framework
