Abstract
This paper presents a circularly polarized azimuthal multibeam radial line slot antenna (AM-RLSA) for mobile satellite communication. A novel feeding structure is proposed to switch the beam azimuth. Only by switching the feeding circuit, it can radiate several beams. The beam elevation angles for all these beams are equal to the elevation angle for the geostational satellite, while the beam azimuth angles are evenly separated. Numerical examples are presented for the coverage elevation angle θ=25°~55°, and the gain of 4.5 dBi is obtained by a four-beam configuration
