Abstract
The authors present an alternative way of simulating a DS/SSMA system using the Fritchman channel model. The advantage of this method is that, once a model of the channel has been created from simulated error statistics, the DS/SSMA system can be simulated very quickly, with the simulation time being independent of the number of users and the processing gain. Thus, a typical application for this simulation technique would be to evaluate different forward error correction (FEC) coding strategies over a specified channel
