Abstract
In developing the first firmwide style guide for Dames & Moore, we focused on two primary goals-presenting material that the users will be interested in and making sure that the content of the style guide itself adheres to every single prescribed “rule”. We think we have guaranteed staff interest in the style guide because we answer frequently asked questions and use samples from Dames & Moore reports. We hope we have met our second goal by both internal and external quality control checks. This paper describes the content of the style guide and how our choices in determining content and maintaining quality relate to acceptance by Dames & Moore engineers, geologists and environmental scientists
