  • Abstract
Shandong province is rich in wind resources. It is surrounding by Bohai and Huanghai. Its terrain is mainly for two kinds: plain and hilly land. So in this province, wind recourses can be exploited to generate electricity. In the earlier stage of wind farm design, wind energy resources assessment is a very important work. This paper introduces some relative definition of wind resources assessment. Then take five wind farms in five different cities in Shandong province as example to assess wind energy in Shandong and find that most hilly areas and seashores in Shandong is worth to exploit the wind energy. The wind power density there belongs to the second grade according to Methodology of Wind Energy Resource Assessment for Wind Farm of China.
