Abstract :
In industrial plants, more and more devices having only a usual RS232 interface must communicate and be networked through an open fieldbus system. Fast communications on large areas are required especially for open-loop and closed-loop control of electric drives. This paper presents a solution that enables to couple devices with RS232 port as slaves to a PROFIBUS network. An industrial implementation is also described as an example.
