Abstract
In this paper, an iterative decoding algorithm of product block codes based on the genetic algorithms is presented. We applied this algorithm over a Rician fading multipath channel in CODIT system, to symmetric and asymmetric PBC constructed from BCH and Quadratic Residue codes of rate .The results show that the proposed algorithm performances outperforms those of the concatenated Reed-Solomon/Convolutional coding scheme proposed in [1]. The excellent results obtained in this paper open broad prospects for iterative decoders based on the genetic algorithms.
