  • Abstract
In the electronics recovery business, recyclers are constantly faced with an always-changing variety of product input. The variability of this input, which has been described in previous papers by the authors, presents a challenging problem when attempting to maximize recoveries and minimize expense, especially when attempting to develop a quick and accurate cost estimate or quote for response to a customer for disposal services. This paper presents a unique approach to cost estimating that can simplify the quote determination process and that is currently used at the IBM Asset Recovery Center in Endicott, New York.
