Abstract :
To explore the germination rate and ecophysiological trait of Tamarindus indica Linn seeds, the germination conditions of tamarindus indica Linn seeds with concentrated sulfuric acid or prechilling were researched at different temperatures. Results showed that the range of the germination temperature were enough to be able to germinate from 20 °C to 30 °C. The germination rate was relatively high with concentrated sulfuric acid treatment. With 30min concentrated sulfuric acid treatment, the germination rate was 100 % at 25 °C . With 15min concentrated sulfuric acid treatment at 25 °C, 30min or 45min at 20 °C, 45min at 15 °C, the germination rate was also higher, above 90 %. Prechilling played a certain role in promoting germination rate and the germination rate reached 75 %, but the effect was not strong as concentrated sulfuric acid treatment.
