Abstract
The development of advanced parking assistance system for assisting the driver to accomplish the parking task is described in this paper. The main issues in implementing the assistance system are the position sensing and the human guidance through human interface. The sensor suite selection, filtering scheme, guidance scheme, human interface scheme development process are described. The developed system prototype and experimental results are also presented
