Abstract :
The large bandwidth makes MMF a very attractive medium for low-cost broadband in building networks, in which several independent sets of services are integrated. Mode group diversity multiplexing (MGDM) integrates multiple services in a single in-home multimode fibre network, by selectively launching and detecting separate mode groups. The electrical signal processing required for separating the services complicates the integration of radio-over-fibre techniques. In this paper, we propose a wired & radio over fibre model dedicated to broadband indoor applications. This model is based on MGDM multiplexing technique and makes use of the existing MMF infrastructure. To evaluate our system, error vector magnitude (EVM) measurements and eye-diagrams have been demonstrated.
