Abstract :
Since September 1998, Kochi prefecture has been designated as one of the proposed sites for inspection of ITS MODEL. Kochi prefectural police headquarters, as a part of lTS nuclei, has taken the next year´s policy into account for the preparation of the inspection. Furthermore, the construction project of the universal traffic control centre (UTCC) has been produced, which may allow ITS advancement in Kochi for future application and be used as a fundamental base of the universal traffic management system, along with the construction of prefectural police central office building. This paper describes the following two issues: one is the progress status on the ITS inspection preparation, and other is an overview of the project on construction of the UTCC
