Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of interarea and intra-area oscillation modes using a detailed computer model of the Southeastern part of the UCTE Interconnection. Modal analysis, as well as FFT, is used to identify modes. Cases of exact weak resonance, as well as near strong resonance are discussed. The oscillation problems caused by a weak connection of the Hellenic System to a small part of European Turkey are highlighted.
