Abstract
The switched reluctance motor is a doubly-salient, single-excited motor. This means that it has salient poles on both the rotor and the stator, but only the stator carries windings. A series of switched reluctance motor drives has been developed in the Computer and Automation Research Institute. The motor power range is from 1.5 kW to 22 kW. The paper shows the features of the different solutions of control circuits. The project has been financed by the National Committee for Technical Development of Hungary.
