Abstract :
In this paper, three categories of dyeing wastewater were treated by impulse discharge. The discharge route was along rod-rod gap and needle-plate gap respectively. Several parameters such as COD, chromaticity were investigated. The results showed that the chemical structure of dyeing was destroyed significantly by impulse discharge; (1) In comparison with the original wastewater of 150 mg/l in COD and 2000(dilution factor) in chromaticity, the disperse dyeing wastewater was decolorized efficiently more than 90% under 7.8 kA current in peak for rod-rod gap case. (2) Both the direct dyeing wastewater and reactive dyeing wastewater was also decolorized dramatically using a needle-plate gap. The chromaticity of both categories of dyeing wastewater was removed more than 90%, but the COD tended to increase.
