  • Abstract
Traffic actuated control makes the green time of part or all inflow parts be elastic according to the traffic demand. In traffic actuated control the biggest green breaking-off timing is effected by the information from the vehicle detector set in the upper stream at the intersection. This method forecasts maximum pass rate for the number of the accumulation passage stands from the green light beginning. In the morning and evening (the rush hour time zone) to cancel the congestion of the trunk-road, being almost fixed, the cycle tends to be long. As a result, without lowering the traffic quantity of the main road in spite of making the green time of the main road short at some intersections, about 15% of occupancy of the subordinate road fell and the traffic quantity of the intersection, too, increased and could improve efficiency of the intersection
