Abstract
In this paper, high-order sliding mode has been employed for excitation system of the synchronous generator. First, the model of the synchronous generator is transformed to singular perturbation nonlinear system, and then the sliding mode controller is designed for fast and slow sub-system; since the states are not completely measurable, we applied the sub-optimal algorithm to ensure the existence of the high-order sliding mode and asymptotic stability of the system. The simulation results are given at last.
