Abstract :
The latest technology of 3D GIS (Geographical Information System) is introduced into power systems to build a practical platform. On the platform an intelligent design and other applications would be realized. With the DEM data and other geographical information, a method based on a knowledge based GA was presented to optimize the route for power transmission lines, and a new dynamic representation structure of chromosomes was given. As a result, an optimized route was found in an actual line corridor of 40 km × 5 km. After spotting towers with an existing automatic method, the main body of DPTN (digital power transmission network) can be built intelligently.
