  • Abstract
Conventionally the hydromechanical driver is used to regulate the variable speed of aircraft engine to provide approximately constant speed for aircraft generator system. DC link variable-speed constant-frequency (VSCF) electrical power generator system is the advanced system available today. Compared with DC link VSCF system, a compact induction generator VSCF (IGVSCF) system presented in this paper can increase efficiency and reliability and further reduce the maintenance man-power per flight hour. The performances of IGVSCF system have been simulated by the computer program and the experimental operation has been done by a prototype IGVSCF system. These simulated results and experimental tests prove that the IGVSCF system is superior to DC link VSCF and hydromechanical driver
