Abstract
Private vehicles are still the most commonly used mode of transport in Malaysia and the usage is becoming more significant nowadays for both long and short distance travel. Statistic shows that the number of vehicles on Malaysian roads is increasing annually. Thus, with the increase in the number of vehicles in the near future, the need to provide good road infrastructure is becoming more significant. As a developing country, the era of road infrastructure design and construction is expected to be on going in the near future to cater for an increasing traffic demand. An exclusive Motorcycle lane, EML is constructed with the objective of providing mobility and safety to motorcyclist where users are travelling with high level of safety. Based on current practice, EML is designed based on the objective that segregation traffic is better than mixed traffic for motorcyclist safety.
