Abstract :
We present experiments on interactions of a high energy pulsed electron beam with copper and molybdenum targets. Samples were submitted to an energy up to 50 J/cm/sup 2/ delivered by AIRIX injector (3 MeV - 3kA - 60 ns duration). Thermoelastic response was measured using a differential laser interferometer mounted in the vicinity of the target chamber. Data reduction based on hydrodynamic simulation gives the Gruneisen and bulk parameters.
