Abstract
Effective algorithms for 2-D FFT and 2-D convolution on massively parallel multiple DSP processors are presented. The system is module-based, is extensible, and is designed to function as a reconfigurable SIMD/MIMD array using a toroidal enhanced mesh of TMS320C40s. A special-purpose shared-memory structure and an I/O controller were designed to exploit maximum parallelism without degrading the global memory bandwidth. Timing complexity analysis and system performance evaluation results for spectral estimation and image enhancement are given
