Abstract
The substitution of the linear resonant inductor by a nonlinear one so that inductance value decreases with the increase of load current has been proposed to overcome the difficulty found in the zero-voltage switching quasi-resonant converters and extended to full-bridge zero-voltage switched PWM converters. This paper presents a survey of the behavior of the ZVS converters with a nonlinear resonant inductor. Experimental results of several prototypes, an extensive theoretical analysis and experimental results are presented to illustrate the behavior of ZVS converters
