Abstract :
Phase-coded pulse compression is one of the most important methods to make low probability of detection (LPD) signals. In this paper, we consider the phase-coded radar signals and use the detection theoretic approach to find the optimum detectors and their performances both for authorized and unauthorized receivers. We use these results to compute a measure related to LPD property of signals. It is shown that by this approach we are able to evaluate the LPD degree of a signal, and so we can easily compare different signals with each other
