Study on problems of dry ports planning based on supply chain management

The development of dry ports plays an important role on the economic and social development in the context of economic globalization, logistic and supply chain management integration. As one of the main carriers of logistic and supply chain activities between the inland areas and ports, the dry port is developing gradually from infancy to youth. In this paper, some problems concerned about the dry port planning are discussed based on supply chain management: potential benefits, principle of planning and construction, functions and policy measures etc., according to which the suggestions for the construction and development of China´s dry ports are provided.
