Abstract :
This paper deals with model reference adaptive control techniques applied to cascade control structures designed for motion control systems with induction motors. The control structure consists of four loops. Two external loops, the velocity and rotor flux control loops, give the reference signals for two internal loops, the direct and in-quadrature current control loops. They give reference voltages to an inverter controller which works according to the space vector modulation method. Control techniques are employed based also on the compensation of torque disturbances to design the velocity loop. Simulation experiments show that very robust control systems can be obtained choosing conveniently the bandwidth of the above control loops
