Abstract
A vector receiving antenna (VRA) has been developed to investigate the field polarization structure (PS) of ultrawideband (UWB) radiation pulses. The VRA consists of three mutually perpendicular dipoles with joint phase center. An algorithm intended to determine the orientation of the electric field vector E in a rectangular coordinate system by the recorded current values has been developed. The angular position of the vector E at each moment of time during a pulse is calculated from the results of measurements. The created VRA is used to investigate the PS of the combined radiator field excited by a bipolar 2-ns-length voltage pulse. The measurement error of the vector E angular position does not exceed 3/spl deg/.
