Abstract
This paper studies a multi-functional power conversion system (PCS) combined with the functions of energy storage and power quality. The multi-functional PCS controls active power and reactive power simultaneously, and it has nine functions. Furthermore, the functions of PCS are divided into normal mode and faulted mode to make use of the rated power of the PCS efficiently. Further, in order to achieve the multi-functions, the well-known coordinate transformations from static coordinate system to rotational one is used, and the control system is designed by classical control theory. Finally, the effectiveness of the multi functions is confirmed by several SCAT simulations and experiments
