Prospects of sustainable grain production in Northeast of China

Northeast of China includes three provinces, i.e. Heilongjiang province, Jilin province and Liaoning province. Northeast of China is an important commercial grain base and plays an important role to assure the food security of the whole country. Therefore, it´s significant to study the conditions, restraining and favorable factors that affect the development of sustainable agriculture in the Northeast of China. The paper revealed that the grain yield of the Northeast would be greatly increased if adjusting structure of grain production, reforming low-yielding fields and adding irrigation areas.
