Abstract :
We present two approaches for mode conversion in photonic crystal. Waveguide with cavity design achieves 35 dB unidirectionality and > 90% forward transmission. Pure waveguide design with optimized 1 × 4 rods achieves bidirectional mode converter and diode separately.
