  • Abstract
A hybrid computational two-dimensional model of a high current vacuum arc in an applied magnetic field is presented. The model treats the electrons as a massless fluid and ions as macroparticles. The macroparticle dynamic is calculated using PIC method. Ion-ion Coulomb collision is considered using MC method. The hybrid model predicts V-shapes Volt-Tesla characteristic, which correlates well with experimental results.
