Perceived Proximity and Paradoxical Tensions in an Innovative Industry-Academia Consortium

We extend the management of paradoxical tensions literature to the inter-organizational level and analyze how paradoxical tensions are identified, perceived and managed in an open innovation consortium and how they relate to the perception of proximity by the different actors, following Boschma´s typology. We study the actors´ perceptions, and the asymmetries thereof, concerning the intra- and inter-organizational proximities and paradoxical tensions in collaborative innovation.
