Abstract :
The authors present their recent results on high power repetitive pulse sources for continuous operation. Two 1-10 kW systems using spark gap technology have been tested for several hundred hours at a 60 MW pulse level. High reliability and above 90% overall efficiency are realized. Introducing a DC-bias, they designed a 30 kW hybrid system for industrial corona applications. The DC bias allows better matching, faster spark gap recovery and higher power.
