Abstract :
Decision making in the face of uncertainty appears in many domains of human experience when we have to make a choice involving a risky alternative. One component of a risky alternative is the uncertainty of the payoff resulting from its selection. Making decisions in the face of uncertain outcomes requires some of representation of our knowledge of uncertainties associated with the possible outcomes, for example probabilities. Often this information is impossible to obtain precisely and may require an imprecise and fuzzy characterization.
