Abstract :
Traffic congestion is one of the restrictive factors for modern city development. In this paper, firstly, the factors that cause road congestion were indentified through investigating and analyzing the causes of urban road traffic congestion. Secondly, Rough Set (RS) theory was used to study the historical data of urban traffic and to extract the useful information. The decision rule table of urban road traffic congestion, from which the relationship between the influent factors and traffic congestion can be clearly seen, was obtained through the reduction algorithm of attributes in decision table of urban road traffic congestion based on Genetic Algorithm (GA).The results shows that this analysis algorithm for traffic congestion is efficient and practical, and that it provides an effective way of establishing intelligent analysis system of urban road traffic congestion.
