Abstract :
In a cellular system with multi-hop networking, when a mobile node enters an area where mobile nodes cannot hear the base station, this node is connected to the base station by relaying capability of other mobile nodes. As a result, a cell is extended by multi-hop networking. This paper theoretically analyzes the extent of such cell extension, and discusses relation between cell extension and some mobility patterns.
