  • Abstract
The authors have shown previously by in vitro flow simulations the effect of wall filtering on the accuracy of the quantitative color Doppler velocity display. To automate the analysis of wall filter impact on mean Doppler frequency estimation they developed an algorithm which allows evaluation of the effect of different wall filter frequency response characteristics, flow fields, detection thresholds, and Nyquist limits. This automated algorithm has proven to be very effective in explaining and understanding the importance of wall filter selection in the quantitative application of Doppler color flow mapping
