Abstract
The vibrations and the acoustic noise produced by switched reluctance motors (SRM) are linked to current wave form and to structural properties of the different machine parts. Our work has been organised with a parametric study to quantify the influence of the stator geometry upon the vibratory behaviour of a SRM 6/4. In particular, this study underscores the important influence of stator yoke thickness compared to the stator teeth shape parameters. A simultaneous analysis about electromagnetic performances and elastic characteristics allows us to propose a less noisy structure
