Abstract :
The design of a quadruple-ridged waveguide (QRWG) L band orthomode transducer (OMT) for Xinjiang 110m radio telescope to be built is introduced. Extensive parametric analysis using HFSS were carried out, and detailed simulation results including return loss, insertion loss, isolation and cross polarization behavior are presented. It shows that the OMT achieves satisfactory performance across the desired 2∶1 bandwidth with a relatively short size.
