Abstract :
The research group at Heilbronn University looks for alternatives to standard battery storages for electric vehicles. Encouraged by simulations and experiments with a batterypowered car (BEV) and a stationary flywheel energy storage (FES) testbed, further new technical and scientific findings about the FES in a mobile vehicle will be presented at the PEMD Conference. The mayor mission of the FES in the process is to buffer the recuperated energy for a short period and release the energy to support the acceleration of the vehicle. The constructed and developed flywheel energy storage by the research group will be used in a mobile vehicle. In most applications FES units are installed stationary, but in this new approach the storage is be developed for an electric-powered single-track vehicle. So there are special requirements in the design and dimensioning of the storage to operate the system in an electric scooter (eScooter).
