Abstract
This article advises a number of fuzzy controls to regulate the performance of a Photovoltaic (PV) installation under normal/abnormal conditions. A simple fuzzy power management control was proposed to optimise the system operation, while fulfilling the requirements of the load. Moreover, a robust and simple fuzzy supervisory control allowing the reconfiguration of the installation in case of panel(s) failure was proposed. The fault advised supervisory approach maximises the harnessed solar power under fault and/or severe operating conditions. Comprehensive simulation results in Matlab environment were presented to validate the proposed controls.
