Abstract :
This paper describes a display unit for see-through-wall (STW) ultra-wideband (UWB) sensor systems designed for use in both research and practical use. The UWB sensor system consists of the M-sequence sensor, one transmitting and two receiving antennas and the display unit implemented in a standard laptop computer. The display unit embodies the signal acquisition and processing procedure and interactive graphical user interface (GUI). The M-sequence UWB sensor used for the development of the display unit and the signal processing procedure for through-wall detection of moving targets are described. Experimental measurements of the display unit performance at different data rates have proved ability of the display unit to execute the full data processing even at high data rates. Limitations of the display unit in terms of graphical output of the results are stated. Other features, such as offline measurement reconstruction, are described.
