Abstract
Blumlein pulsers are excellent devices for high voltage pulse generation in the range of nanoseconds. However, for long pulse operation (above 1 /spl mu/s) these pulse generators have not been used so far because of the long length of the transmission lines required, which makes unpractical the device dimensions. In addition, the use of wound coaxial lines for their construction reduces the generator size. Thus, using that construction technique this paper presents for the first time the design of a high voltage Blumlein pulser (150 kV/300 A) to operate at long pulses (/spl ap/1 /spl mu/s).
