Abstract :
This paper presents a design methodology for high-power three-phase zero-current-transition (ZCT) inverters. Analytical enumeration on components design rules, inverter loss calculations and system optimization is provided in detail. Control aspects are analyzed, including transient behaviors, duty-cycle losses, pulse-width limits, and compensation methods to the limits. Layout issues are addressed with considerations on the system´s sensitivity to resonant component parameter variations. As illustrative examples, two 50-kW prototypes are examined against the proposed design methodology
