Abstract
The paper presents the fuzzy logic aspects of power system performability evaluation. In a fault-tolerant power the failures must be detected and isolated saving the operational state of the system. So we propose a composed model performance-dependability, combining electric-power system dependability measures and electric-power protection/automation safety measures. A Markov reward model using a fuzzy instantaneous reward (IR) is proposed. IR depends of the fuzzy safety transition (ST) due to the electric-power protection/automation system action. A fuzzy logic system (FLS) is used for safety analysis of the electric power protection/automation system. The paper focuses on the algorithm for fuzzy instantaneous reward parameter evaluation starting from the fuzzy safety transition. A power system performability comparative study for the naval electric power plant (NPP) isolated system exemplifies the model.
