Abstract
This paper deals with the use of a mathematical model to evaluate the influence of space charge resulting of the addition of some compounds to mineral oil, on the positive streamer propagation, in a point-plane electrode arrangement under DC voltage. The model we used is based on equivalent electrical network. Different characteristics of streamers such as its pattern and its propagation velocity, the associated currents and electrical charges, the local electric field, the local viscosity and temperature of streamer branches are presented and discussed.
