Abstract :
In this paper, the reciprocating motion friction and wear experiment of steel vs. steel was conducted. On the basis of debris group theory, the parameter of debris group characteristic (PDGC) that described the wear state of reciprocating motion friction pairs was extracted. The results showed that the parameter changing rule vs. wear time is almost the same with wear rate, and the linear correlation coefficient between the parameter and the wear rate is 0.76. Therefore, the Parameter of debris group characteristic extracted in this paper completely can be used to quantitatively describe wear state of reciprocating motion friction pairs just like wear rate.
